The unique technique “Drawing with Chlorine// Fil’chlor” has been developed, implemented and produced by Palestinian artist Mujahed Khallaf.

In both World Wars and in the Syrian War chlorine has been used as a weapon of mass-destruction, while in everyday use it is primarily known for washing and bleaching.
The technique needs lots of patience and dedication since chlorine does not, as other drawing methods, show the drawn lines and figures in the moment of drawing but need at least two minutes to appear on the canvas.

In 2014 for the first time Khallaf started to share this method of art with the public and created numerous drawings and designs by hand. He labeled his technique under the name “Fil’chlor” (Arabic: fi al-chlor engl: through chlorine // read: folklore ).
